Hi, I’m Madeline.
Therapy is a space that provides comfort and safety to reimagine change in your life. I love working with couples developing healthy sexualities, LGBTQIA+ individuals developing their sexual and gender expression, and people on the journey of healing. I want to meet you where you are today and move through the process together. This includes the heights of pleasure and the depths of grief; the process includes both! I use a person-centered approach, with a whole lot of fun and humor, to authentically provide a space for a collaborative, non-judgmental relationship. Creating mindful awareness into your lived experience we gently address patterns, build insight, and learn to cope in healthy, sustainable ways. Let’s make a road map towards healing together.
I love working with people figuring out where sex fits into their lives. Whether you are facing wanting more fulfilling sex, exploring poly, or even the shame that comes with wanting sex or a kinky/queer relationship in a world that tells us we shouldn’t. I’ve been there, and struggled through the confusion of it. And I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to do it alone. Every part of you is welcome here.
I thrive to enact change through equity in the spaces I occupy. I recognize my privilege as a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied woman. I utilize this humble recognition with education to ensure I am providing a multicultural approach to societal members impacted by injustice and oppression.
In my free time you can find me moving. I love skiing, yoga, playing stickball, hiking, riding my motorcycle around the great PWN, and traveling. I love to make pottery and calligraphy and spend lots of time outdoors. I’ve lived around the world in places like Rome, New Zealand, and Croatia, and I’m proud to call my hometown Denver, Colorado. Thankful to be living in the beautiful PNW for the past 5 years.
Alright lets nerd out with the professional & acedemic stuff.
I’m a Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapist Associate (#R9117). I am supervised by Michelle Engblom-Deglmann, Ph.D. LMFT (#T1004) and Karlaina Matthews Brooke, PsyD. I work with individuals and couples, both monogamous and non-monogamous, from an eclectic use of modalities. I draw on Emotion Focused (EFT) and Restoration Therapy (RT) foundation, while also using Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also Gottman trained and incorporate this into couple’s work.
I went to graduate school here in Oregon and got the opportunity to train with RT expert and ASSECT certified, Emily Brems, LMFT. This helped excel my career into the art of RT through the use of neuroscience, attachment psychology, and mindfulness work. I was also trained in sex therapy with LGBT individuals and couples.
I have a Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of San Diego. After my bachelors I became fascinated with the human body and decided to pursue somatic (somatic meaning body focused) psychology by receiving my yoga teacher training, tantric practitioner training, and working at a psychiatric inpatient facility. I later when on to work in bodywork for 5 years while completing my masters degree. I use this depth of knowledge about the body to assist in our sessions.
Are you in a space in your relationship, or by yourself, where something just isn’t working? You are your greatest cure, and I’ll help you discover that.
