Most people don’t arrive with a tidy explanation, but a feeling that something is off. Maybe its showing up as distance, or silence, or a version of intimacy that used to feel easy and doesn’t anymore. Here’s what that tends to look like:
You don’t need the right words.
You just need a place to start.

HERE’S HOW I CAN HELP
Whatever brought you here, the work is the same at it’s core: understanding whats actually happening beneath the surface issue, the building something studier in it’s place.
At MBWellbeing, I provide couples sex therapy, individual sex therapy, and intimacy therapy in Portland, Oregon, as well as online throughout Oregon. Whether you're navigating communication challenges, emotional disconnection, desire differences, or life transitions, intimacy therapy can help you strengthen your relationship with yourself and with your partner.
Couples Therapy
For partners - two or more - working through communication, desire, trust, or simply wanting to feel closer. Emotional connection is key to deeper intimacy. This is couples sex therapy focused on foundational work.
Individual Sex Therapy
One-on-One work on desire, body image, identity, shame, and past experiences that are shaping how you relate to sex and intimacy today. Individual therapy can be monumental in self discovery and growth.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here to help you build a better relationship with your body, your sexuality, and your relationships. I’m a sex therapist in Portland, OR and meet with people virtually across Oregon.
I work with couples building healthier sexualities, LGBTQIA+ folx exploring gender and sexual expression, and people on their own intimate healing path — ENM, poly, or monogamous. I love to work with individuals to have more pleasurable experiences in their bodies. This process of alignment is focused on expanding sexuality to have more fun, more pleasure, and less pain.
From the beginning, I’ve been passionate about working with couples and individuals searching to understand how sexual health fits into their lives. Opening MBWellbeing as a Portland sex therapist is a small step toward my long-term goal of expanding access to sex and intimacy therapy. I earned my graduate school training locally at George Fox University, and went on to specialize in sexual health and sex therapy at the University of Michigan.
If you need help finding your way back to sexual intimacy, I would be honored to guide you on the journey.
Meet Madeline Ball, LMFT
An oyster doesn’t choose the grain of sand. It chooses what to do with it.
WHY THE OYSTER
Something isn’t working
You show up because the old patterns stopped serving you. Whether it was a difficult conversation, a quiet distance, or a question about who you are that won’t go away.
FRICTION
You do the work
We name what’s actually happening underneath the surface issue, using attachment, somatic, and evidenced-based approaches suited to you.
PRESSURE
Insight becomes practice
Session by session, awareness turning into new habits through communication, how you ask for what you want, and how you show up for your needs and each others needs.
LAYERING
Something precious, on purpose
Not a return to how things were, but something sturdier. Built from what the friction taught you.
